When Becca Croteau and Jeremy Jones created Hank’s Ultimate Cheesiest Burger as part of their entry into the 2024 Blazin’ Games Presented by Pepsi, they had no idea it would win them ‘Best in Culinary’ across the entire Buffalo Wild Wings’ (BWW) system. And in 2025, this burger has scored them another title as this year’s J.T.M. Beer Cheese Throwdown Champion.
The Cheesiest Burger first debuted at the Blazin’ Games – Buffalo Wild Wings award-winning training competition – last October, when Becca and Jeremy competed as one of 1,200 Buffalo Wild Wings sports bars teams determined to be recognized as the best in the U.S. After multiple rounds of competition testing knowledge, culinary skills, service execution, and teamwork, Becca and Jeremy were celebrated as Buffalo Wild Wings’ top culinary team members.
Made with three different cheeses and two hand-smashed patties, the Cheesiest Burger is stacked with fried pickles, bacon aioli, American cheese, and pepper jack cheese served on a challah bun in a bed of beer cheese, bacon crumbles, grilled onions, and topped with cilantro. “When the Blazin’ Games challenged us to make our own recipe using existing BWW ingredients, our first thought was to go big with bold flavors,” recalls Jeremy. “And who doesn’t love something covered in cheese?”
Now in 2025, Becca and Jeremy are at it again after entering J.T.M. Food Group’s Beer Cheese Throwdown. Each year, food service operators across every industry are invited to show off their creativity at the J.T.M. Beer Cheese Throwdown by competing with their best, most innovative recipes using J.T.M.’s craft beer cheeses or beer cheese bases. For Becca and Jeremy, it was the perfect opportunity to revive Hank’s Ultimate Cheesiest Burger.
After a 32-recipe bracket broken down into four rounds of voting, the Cheesiest Burger went head-to-head against Ruckus Pizza’s Smoked Brisket Pupusa at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, Illinois. After intense judging across a number of categories, J.T.M. announced Hank’s Ultimate Cheesiest Burger as the 2025 Beer Cheese Throwdown Champion.
