Dunkin'

A Little Town Called Dunkin’

By Jessica Shock

History is happening in the town of Stow, Massachusetts this week as residents welcome back Dunkin’ after a long three years. To celebrate, the Stow Select Board unanimously voted to rename the town “Dunkin’” for one day in honor of its grand opening on Thursday, July 24.

Locals can thank Megan and Mark Pesce for bringing Dunkin’ back to Stow. As franchisees leading The Pesce Network, they own and operate more than 50 Dunkin’ locations across the Greater Boston area. For them, a Massachusetts town without a Dunkin’ is a town that needs one.

“As soon as we heard the locations in Stow had closed, we said, ‘We need to fix that,’” recalls Megan Pesce. “Driving more than a mile for your Dunkin’ run isn’t something anyone wants. Some folks may find it funny, but we totally get it. This is Massachusetts, after all.”

In 2024, Megan and Mark purchased 108 Great Road, a former restaurant site that was iconic to the area. Though originally planned for demolition, they received approval for a complete renovation of the existing building in Dunkin’s modern NextGen image.

As a town that was once described as a Dunkin’ desert, Stow can now enjoy the brand that calls their state home. To usher in the name change, locals enjoyed “Now Entering: Dunkin’” town signs, custom “Stow-nut” donuts, and special “Entering Dunkin’ – Stow, MA” merchandise. Cuppy, Dunkin’s mascot, was also presented with a key to the city.

Inspire strives to be the franchisor of choice in the restaurant industry, and the success of franchisees who choose to grow within its portfolio of beloved brands is the strongest testament to that mission. That’s why anything is possible with Inspire: any brand, any format, any space.
