30 Dunkin’ Locations Open on October 1, International Coffee Day, in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia is one of the fastest growing coffee markets in the Middle East – in fact, local coffee consumption has steadily grown by almost 4 percent each year since 2016, particularly among younger guests looking to fuel up for their day or enjoy a moment with friends.
Dunkin’ has been at the forefront of that transformation. Since entering the market three decades ago, the brand has grown to more than 500 locations across 34 cities, serving guests of all ages as the leading coffee brand in the country. The brand is known locally for its innovative hot and iced espresso beverages and iconic donuts and coffee.
That growth took center stage on October 1, when Dunkin’ and licensee Shahia Food Limited Company opened a record 30 restaurants in one day, breaking the record for number of openings in a single day in the brand’s more than 72-year history.
“It’s an exhilarating time to be the beverage and bakery leader in Saudi Arabia,” says Michael Haley, President & Managing Director of International, Inspire. “We’re proud of our 37-year legacy in Saudi Arabia and are energized by the opportunity to bring the Dunkin’ brand to new guests in 30 new communities. Congratulations to the Shahia Food team on this record-breaking achievement.“
This 30-store expansion comes just six months after Dunkin’ Saudi Arabia opened 17 stores in a single day in May 2022. The brand is on track to exceed 600 restaurants in the market by the end of the year.
Inspire Brands currently has 2,600+ stores in the Middle East across our family of brands, including Baskin-Robbins, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Dunkin’, with the first Arby’s restaurants set to open in the coming months.
