From Buffalo Wild Wings Bartender to Culinary Beverage Manager: “Everything I learned in the sports bar made me the perfect candidate”

By Jessica Shock

Noelle “Nelly” Morris knows Buffalo Wild Wings (BWW) beverages like the back of her hand. As Inspire’s Beverage Culinary Manager for BWW, she spends her time innovating, testing, and executing the unique drinks available exclusively at our sports bars. But before she was on the corporate culinary team, Nelly was mixing drinks as a bartender at her local BWW in Marietta, Georgia.

“Buffalo Wild Wings was my go-to lunch spot in college, so working there happened very naturally since I already knew everyone,” shares Nelly. “After graduating with my bachelor’s degree in 2009, I tried a lot of different jobs and companies – but I always came back to B-Dubs. There’s nothing else like it.”

From taking orders to overseeing local marketing, Nelly took on just about every role that exists within a sports bar. But in 2020, she had an opportunity to try something different at Inspire.

“I jumped from being a bartender at one location to the Operations Integration coordinator for all of Buffalo Wild Wings at Inspire,” recalls Nelly. “Looking back, everything I learned in the sports bar keyed me up to be the perfect candidate – and that experience still sets me up for success today. I know our guests, I know how to make recipes more approachable for our bartenders, and I make sure training is standardized across our system so we can deliver a great experience the same way, every time.”

But Nelly isn’t just relying on her own experiences. She regularly visits sports bars to hear the perspectives of team members and guests. In fact, site visits are one of her favorite parts of the job.

“The environment that Buffalo Wild Wings creates for guests is just really special. I’m lucky that my job takes me to locations all over the country,” says Nelly. “There’s something about being in the middle of the floor, and it’s the fourth quarter of a game, and suddenly everyone around you is cheering; high-fiving from one table to another. It’s magic.”

For Nelly, a typical work trip isn’t complete without a visit to one of BWW’s twenty-five Innovation Locations. “These are trusted sports bars that run so efficiently, we’re able to introduce new food and beverage items on their menu to gather feedback. It’s a real-time playground for innovation, and we couldn’t do it without the whole team keeping it all running smoothly.”

In 2025, Nelly celebrates 20 years with the Buffalo Wild Wings brand. To this day, the project she takes the most pride in is something she’s been doing since day one: filming training videos for the entire sports bar population. Her very first video? How to make Strawberry Lemonade, BWW’s most popular non-alcoholic beverage. “I’ve been invited back to make training videos ever since. It really kicked things off for me and opened my eyes to the opportunities available at Inspire.”

With her 21st year around the corner, Nelly says she can’t wait for what’s next. “I absolutely adore everyone I work with at Inspire. I think we have the most brilliant set of rockstars across our teams who make you feel really confident about where B-Dubs is and where it’s going.”
