Jimmy John’s Enters Mexico

By Jessica Shock

From lush vegetation to colorful street art, there’s no mistaking Mexico City. More than nine million people walk its tree-lined streets every day – visiting local museums, ancient ruins, and now, Mexico’s first Jimmy John’s locations.

On February 5, Inspire and franchisee Grupo Cever celebrated Jimmy John’s arrival at its Mexico flagship location: the Mexico City campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey. “We’re excited to bring Jimmy John’s premium ingredients and unmatched convenience to Mexico with Grupo Cever,” says Inspire International President and Managing Director Michael Haley.

Jimmy John’s Mexico menu will feature 18 sandwiches, including new offerings created with international audiences in mind: the Meatball Parmesan, Buffalo Chicken Melt, and Spicy Jimmy. Guests have the option to toast any sandwich and choose between Jimmy John’s iconic fresh-baked bread or the carb-friendly “Unwich” lettuce wrap.

This opening in Latin America comes just two years after Jimmy John’s emerged as an international brand, entering its fifth international market with Mexico.

“We recognize exceptional brands and products when we see — and taste — them,” says Lic. César Verdes Quevedo, Vice President of Grupo Cever, the Jimmy John’s franchisee in Mexico. “The bold flavors and diverse menu at Jimmy John’s are truly unmatched, and we’re confident they’ll keep our guests coming back for more — and bringing their friends.”
