This week, SONIC Drive-In officially opened its newest location in Sandy Springs, Georgia, just 1.6 miles from Inspire Brands’ Atlanta Global Support Center. To mark the occasion, Inspire CEO Paul Brown, SONIC Brand President Jim Taylor, and other members of the Inspire leadership team joined Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul for a ribbon cutting ceremony and drive-in tour ahead of opening day.
Located at 5903 Roswell Road, the eye-catching new drive-in features drive-thru service, nine drive-in stalls, and a patio with outdoor tables and lawn games – just in time for summer. One of many facets of the brand’s digital transformation, the new location features exterior pick-up lockers, which pair with SONIC’s robust mobile Order Ahead platform to create a seamless experience for guests on the go. Sandy Springs SONIC guests can place orders online or through the SONIC App and take advantage of monthly offers and discounts available through SONIC Rewards.
“We’re thrilled to expand SONIC’s presence in Atlanta with a restaurant less than two miles from Inspire’s Atlanta Global Support Center,” said John Kelly, Inspire’s Chief Company Restaurant Officer. “The Sandy Springs location is one of four corporate-owned SONIC restaurants opening in the Atlanta area over the next year, and we look forward to bringing more delicious meals, treats, drinks, and job opportunities to the communities we serve.”
The Sandy Springs SONIC plans to employ 70-75 team members from. Last fall, SONIC opened its LaGrange, Georgia, location and is planning to open additional locations in Cornelia, Blairsville, and Fayetteville by early 2024. In total, the brand will provide hundreds of jobs for the Atlanta community across the five locations.
