Random Acts of Kindness Week is a time that celebrates and encourages helping one another and spreading kindness February 15–21, 2021. SONIC Drive-In is joining the fun again this year by helping public school teachers during this difficult school year. Each day of the week, SONIC will donate up to $200,000 to various public school teachers’ learning requests through its longtime non-profit partner DonorsChoose.
Through Limeades for Learning, SONIC will randomly hand-select teacher requests across the country in categories including food, clothing, hygiene; books and basics; and distance learning technology needs.
Every day of the week will highlight a new theme:
- Tuesday, Feb. 16: Random SONIC fans receive a surprise opportunity to support teachers in their communities; Select counties across the country receive donations
- Wednesday, Feb. 17: A dollar-for-dollar donation match launches for select distance learning technology requests aimed at narrowing the digital divide*
- Thursday, Feb. 18: Teachers are randomly selected and given two $25 DonorsChoose gift codes – one to keep and one to kindly gift to a colleague
- Friday, Feb. 19: Hand-selected books and basics teacher requests receive a donation
SONIC is excited to celebrate teachers in new ways during Random Acts of Kindness Week, although our love for supporting teachers is not random! Since 2009, through Limeades for Learning, SONIC has supported public school teachers and their students through a variety of funding opportunities, donating more than $18 million toward teacher projects, impacting more than 5.7 million students and 26,500 teachers across the country.
