Arby’s in Arizona is Always Looking for New Ways to Make a Difference

By Raj Prashad

At Arby’s, efforts from thousands of team members every day to make a difference locally is part of what makes the brand such an instrumental part of communities across the country. Over the last five years, Arby’s franchisee Cardinal RB Arizona, LLC, in Tucson, Arizona, and partner and director of operations Jami Salyers have worked to support their community through efforts such as raising funds for the United Cerebral Palsy Foundation (UCP), the local food bank and children in need.

This year, while the team raised $33,500 toward the UCP, Salyers and her team have simultaneously turned their attention toward supporting those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s really important for me to see our teams get involved, engaged and I’m really proud of the level of excitement that they have for these donations,” Salyers said. “Our stores have all called me and asked, “When is it our turn?” So they love doing it.”

“You can’t really put into words how it feels to give back to your community.” Jami Salyers, Director of Operations, Arby’s franchisee Cardinal RB Arizona, LLC

Over the last few months, Salyers and the Arizona Arby’s team members have delivered food donations to medical centers, assisted living homes, the National Guard and they’ve hosted fundraisers, raising over $23,000 for the local food bank. Most recently, they implemented “Feel Good Fridays,” where the team picks out one car from the drive-thru that they buy lunch for in hopes of creating a chain reaction of paying it forward.

“Giving back is something that’s always been important for us,” Salyers said. “We’re really fortunate to work for Arby’s and Cardinal RB Arizona, LLC, which has been so supportive toward these efforts.”
