Representatives from Inspire Brands and Buffalo Wild Wings arrived in our nation’s capital to participate in the brand’s fifth-annual Washington, D.C. Fly-In.
During their week in Washington, company and franchise leaders met with nearly 30 Congressional offices and Administration officials to discuss important issues impacting the restaurant industry. The meetings resulted in several new co-sponsors of bills supported by the industry.
“Our representatives in Washington need to hear firsthand from corporate leaders and franchisees about how those laws impact our ability to operate, grow and create jobs,” said Tim Ehlert, Senior Director of Government Relations for Inspire Brands.
The week culminated with the Congressional Baseball Game between Democrat and Republican lawmakers. Described by some as “the only annual partisan showdown beloved by all and enjoyed by thousands,” the charity baseball game raises funds for local organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington.
As a leading sponsor of the game, BWW teamed up with Anheuser-Busch to host a special event for legislators and their staff at National’s Park. The event featured what one reporter from The Hill called, “the most beautiful mountain of buffalo wings I’ve ever seen.”
“Our Washington DC Fly-In provides a chance for Inspire Brands leaders and franchisees to bring policymakers across the political spectrum together over wings and beer.” Tim Ehlert, Senior Director of Government Relations, Inspire Brands
