Buffalo Wild Wings Helps Fuel the Champion in Every Child

By Marissa Tinter

When individuals rally around a common goal, the results can be truly incredible. That was the case for teams at Buffalo Wild Wings sports bars across the country when their commitment to supporting youth sports initiatives yielded amazing results for thousands of kids.

This fall, the Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation hosted their annual Team Up For Kids fundraiser, raising $1.53 million to provide kids the opportunity to participate in team sports and learn valuable lessons in teamwork, leadership and discipline through partners, like Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

“We view it as our responsibility to support this wonderful initiative and are proud to do so.

It’s inspiring to our teams to be difference makers.” Alicia Howard, Howard Group Marketing Manager, Buffalo Wild Wings

During the fundraiser, hundreds of Buffalo Wild Wings sports bars opened their hearts and their doors to local Boys & Girls Clubs kids. In Flint, Michigan, the Buffalo Wild Wings team surprised Boys & Girls Clubs kids with a visit to their club. In Concord, North Carolina, middle school youth had the chance to greet guests and shadow servers during a busy dinner rush. And, in Casper, Wyoming, the sports bar team held a Blazin’ Wings eating challenge where contestants competed to eat the most and raise the most funds.

“The look of excitement and pure gratitude from these kids, whether it’s supplying uniforms for their team or hosting them at a local Buffalo Wild Wings for a special event is a humbling experience and a feeling that is truly priceless.” Fred Levario, Houston Buffalo Wild Wings District Manager, said.

At the end of the day, the hard work to raise funds is a game-changer for local organizations, such as the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Since 2013, the Team Up For Kids program has donated over $22 million and given the opportunity to participate in team sports to more than 600,000 kids.
