For more than three years, Bruce Neely has been a loyal member of the Blazin’ Rewards program at his local Northbrook, Illinois, Buffalo Wild Wings. With more than 100,000 points accrued over that time, Neely could have easily used his points toward any combination of free food, merch and tickets. But Neely wanted to use the points where it might have the most impact — providing a special meal to feed children in an underserved community at his local Boys & Girls Club.
“You know, I’m not a man of large means, but I have something that I can do. I believe that if it’s within a persons power to help someone else, they should. These points should be put to good use with kids and families who could use it,” Neely said. “I’m blessed to have raised five kids, and have seven grandkids now too and all do well. If I can bring a little joy to other peoples’ lives, that’s what’s important.”
Neely’s donation to the local Boys & Girls Club was used as part of a celebration to end the school year for local youth. The Buffalo Wild Wings Foundation will also provide a matching donation as part of the Boys & Girls Club’s Summer Camp kickoff.
“We truly appreciate Buffalo Wild Wings for thinking of Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago for this kind of contribution,” said Dawn Jimenez, the Club Director at the Valentine Boys & Girls Club. “It was great to see the kids all eat together, at a safe distance of course, and bond over their love of wings.”
