When the Arby’s Foundation announced the launch of this year’s fall fundraiser, the Make A Difference Campaign, it was with the goal of delivering on our belief that every kid deserves to dream big and pursue their dreams with confidence.  We wanted to continue our work of ending childhood hunger but also expand our support to national and local youth-serving organizations that are removing barriers for kids.

In just four weeks, the Arby’s system raised over $2.6 million, which brings the total raised in 2018 to $5.5 million and counting. These results speak to the incredible commitment our team members have to this program and to the generosity of our guests. The funds will allow local markets to identify and support youth-related causes in their own backyards while also extending support to our three national partners: Junior Achievement, No Kid Hungry and Big Brothers Big Sisters of America —organizations we chose to work with based on the importance and effectiveness of their programs.

In addition to supporting local organizations across the country, funds raised through the Make A Difference Campaign will help our national partners in the following ways:

  1. Junior Achievement: Funds will support national expansion of their 3DE program which is transforming high school education by making it more relevant, experiential, and connected to the world.
  2. No Kid Hungry: Since 2011, we’ve given more than $25 Million to support No Kid Hungry’s mission to end childhood hunger.  We believe that access to wholesome food is ground zero for a kid’s success and are excited to continue our support of their work  to make sure all kids have the food they need every day.
  3. Big Brothers Big Sisters: More than 33,000 kids are on a waiting list for a Big Brother or Big Sister. Funds raised will provide support needed to recruit more Bigs so that these kids can experience the life-changing impact of a mentoring relationship.

I’m incredibly proud of this year’s success of the Make A Difference Campaign but am even more excited to see the impact these funds will have on the lives of kids. To our team members, our guests, and our community partners, thank you for helping us create a world where every kid can dream big and pursue their dreams with confidence.

Regards,
