At Baskin-Robbins, we’re passionate about happiness. That’s why we created the Baskin-Robbins Pint-Sized Heroes program to bring smiles to children who are receiving care at hospitals across the country and continue to inspire joy in their communities. Through the generosity of our franchisees, Team Members, partners, and guests, the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation is able to provide grants in honor of our Pint-Sized Heroes so that they continue to make an impact on other kids facing challenges in their communities. This month, we’re recognizing a Pint-Sized Hero who inspires others to stay positive despite the challenges they may face. Keep reading to learn more about our new Pint-Sized Hero, Kaylee.
10-year-old Kaylee was diagnosed with sickle cell and moyamoya disease and has been in and out of the hospital for treatment over the past several years. Sickle cell disease causes chronic pain and has led to many other medical complications for young Kaylee. Kaylee has been through so much throughout her life but takes on every challenge with a positive outlook. The hospital team at Children’s Hospital University of Illinois describes her as resilient and happy every day despite living with pain and needing to make so many trips to the hospital. Kaylee is always smiling, playing and bringing joy to everyone around her.
Baskin-Robbins is overjoyed to recognize Kaylee as a Pint-Sized Hero and to support her in keeping a positive attitude in the face of adversity. To pay it forward, the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation is granting $31,000 in her name to Children’s Hospital University of Illinois to use on child life programming. To show our gratitude to Kaylee, we’re treating her to a year of free ice cream, so she can celebrate every sweet moment with Baskin-Robbins!
