SONIC is giving classrooms a spring refresh! In honor of Teacher Appreciation Day on May 5,  the SONIC® Foundation is teaming up with DonorsChoose to match $1 million in donations to help educators get the support and supplies they need. The funding is made possible through a portion of SONIC® Drink sales*, including the new lineup of SONIC® Refreshers, which the SONIC Foundation uses to support teachers and public education across the communities SONIC serves.

During Teacher Appreciation Day on May 5, the SONIC Foundation will match 100% of each donation to teachers’ requests on DonorsChoose, while funds last. SONIC fans and guests can find a project from a public school teacher in their community by visiting DonorsChoose.org, where thousands of educators are seeking resources for students. Teachers are encouraged to submit their projects at donorschoose.org/teachers.

“Teachers go above and beyond every day to create meaningful learning experiences for their students, often using their own resources to make it happen,” said Stuart Brown, executive director of the SONIC Foundation. “Through our partnership with DonorsChoose and the support of SONIC guests, we’re proud to help give educators the tools they need to inspire curiosity, creativity and confidence in the classroom.”

Classroom requests range from basic needs like writing supplies and new books to help students develop a love of reading, to more innovative requests such as providing butterfly cocoons and robotics kits for engaging science lessons.
