Arby’s in Alabama Inspires Truck Drivers With Meals, Encouraging Notes

By Raj Prashad

As America continues to feel the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak, truck drivers are doing their best to ensure restaurants and grocery stores across the country are well-stocked. Because that often means driving countless hours through the day and night, Arby’s area supervisor David Emerson, general manager Amanda Hollis and the team in Bessemer, Alabama, wanted to show their appreciation and gratitude with a meal donation to truck drivers at a local grocery distribution center.

To feed more than 160 drivers, the Arby’s team in Alabama provided 250 Beef ‘n Cheddar Sandwiches, Chicken Sandwiches, Curly Fries and Cookies. The team also wrote unique notes on each bag to the theme of, “Stay positive, we’ll get through this together.”

“This was our way of saying ‘thank you’ for all they do.

It’s not often in our busy worlds we get an opportunity to slow down and just give thanks.” David Emerson, Area Supervisor, Arby’s

In addition to feeding truck drivers, Emerson and his team have continued giving back to their community, offering meals to first responders and other essential personnel.

“In every bad situation there’s something positive,” Emerson said. “My team does a good job of trying to help out in their local communities and this has been really special for all of us to be able to give back.”
