New Mexico Buffalo Wild Wings is Donating Food to All Essential Workers

By Raj Prashad

Buffalo Wild Wings general manager Leticia Sosa-Carver knows first-hand what many hospital workers across the country are experiencing during the COVID-19 outbreak. Her sister and cousin work at the local Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and Sosa-Carver wanted to show appreciation for workers throughout the hospital.

“They’re tired and stressed, so we wanted to do something to remind them that we appreciate and are thinking about them,” Sosa-Carver said.

She worked with the team at the Las Cruces Buffalo Wild Wings to prepare and drop off wings and salad for the emergency room staff. Then, they came back the next day with more food for the security staff and workers on the heavily-impacted respiratory floor.

On the third day, Sosa-Carver and her team prepared food for the local fire and police departments, as well as the other hospital in town. In the coming days, they plan to bring food to local grocery stores, whose team members are also working around the clock to stock their shelves.

“Everyone has to eat, and that’s why it’s so important for us to feed our community,” Sosa-Carver said. “We’ll continue to do everything we can to support them in this time of need.”
