Tavion Langford Represents SONIC as Inaugural Hospitality Award Recipient

By Raj Prashad

When Tavion Langford isn’t attending class or competing in athletics as a senior in high school, he’s working diligently at the SONIC Drive-In in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Tavion has fond memories of going to the drive-in with his family growing up, which is why he joined SONIC more than a year ago. In that time, he’s worked his way up to become a crew leader, and in the process, earned the inaugural Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau Spirit of Hospitality Award.

“I’m very honored,” Tavion said. “I feel really appreciative to have won this award. Everyone at our drive-in is great, from management to our crew. We have really good people here.”

Tavion won the award due to outstanding guest service after Percilla West, chair of the board for the Halifax County Convention and Visitors Bureau encountered him on a visit to the drive-in.

“He was saying he was here to make her day and he was delighted to help her,” Lori Medlin, president and CEO of the bureau, said per RRSpin. “She had tears in her eyes because he was so kind.”

The award was created to honor local employees who enhance the visitor experience in Halifax County.

“We are humbled for Tavion to be the first team member to win this award,” Andrea Jordan, SONIC general manager, said. “Our people are what make SONIC different, and this is a great example of that.”
