At Inspire Brands, we are proud to support veterans and active duty military members. In honor of National Veterans Month, we’re spotlighting some of the brave service members close to our hearts: our team members.

Inspire Human Resources Manager Timeka Knight served as a Petroleum Supply Specialist and Administrative Specialist in the U.S. Army from 1995 to 2004.

“I saw joining the Army as an opportunity to pay for college and to see the world,” says Timeka. “Growing up in a small town in south Georgia, I’d always dreamed of exploring. I’d never left the state until I joined the military.”

Timeka’s nine years in the military offered many unforgettable experiences. “One of my most memorable moments was being co-pilot in a military helicopter, a Boeing CH-47 Chinook, at the age of 18. Although I was only in control of the aircraft for a few seconds, it’s a fun memory that will stay with me for life.”

After her time in the military, Timeka worked for the Department of Defense and later The Home Depot. In 2016, she joined Arby’s Restaurant Group as a Payroll Coordinator and later transitioned to an HR Coordinator in 2019. Today, she is the Enterprise HR Manager for Inspire.

Nearly two decades after serving in the U.S. Army, Timeka says she still applies her experience every day at Inspire. “One of the things that the military prepares you for is conflict, and how to keep a level head when conflicts arise,” Timeka says. “For me, being able to work through the challenges I face in my role and my day-to-day with clear thought can be attributed to my military training.”

Timeka continues to prioritize serving others, which inspired her to become a member of the Inspired Vets business resource group (BRG). “As an Army veteran, I have a special place in my heart for all military servicemembers, both active and former. When I learned of the Inspired Vets BRG, it was a no brainer for me to join. I look forward to supporting those who are currently serving, as well as our veterans.”
