The Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation is committed to bringing happiness and smiles to children facing challenges while receiving hospital care or fighting food insecurity. Powered by the generosity of our franchisees, funds raised support Foundation grant giving at the national and local nonprofit level. For Baskin-Robbins franchisee network TMart Operations, LLC, a Midwest group of 19 Baskin-Robbins locations, the opportunity to support kids in need was a vision embraced at every level of its organization.

“When you wholeheartedly believe in the mission of the Foundation and know the lives of children battling hunger and illness will be directly impacted by the dollars you’re collecting, it’s easy to get inspired,” says TMart Operations, LLC President and CEO Jeremy Alsaker.

What began as a one-month fundraising goal of $131 per location (in honor of the brand’s original 31 flavors) quickly turned into a friendly competition fueled by a shared passion to support kids facing challenges in the community. Through weekly conference calls filled with excitement and best practices learnings, TMart’s team members felt motivated to take the fundraiser into their own hands and raised nearly $10,000 in one month – more than three times their original goal.

Team member Jasmine Achterberg in Appleton, WI, encouraged her team to share their Foundation goal with each guest. The result? Floor-to-ceiling paper donation icons celebrating every person who made a contribution. Shop manager Natasha Welch in Beaver Dam, WI, motivated her team to surpass their fundraising goal by promising that they could pie her in the face. And in the last weekend of the fundraiser, Heidi Blair in Stevens Point, WI, hosted a special community event to raise money, engaging guests in carnival activities for a great cause.

Funds raised by TMart directly benefit the Baskin-Robbins Joy in Childhood Foundation’s signature Pint-Sized Heroes program, which celebrates children like 10-year-old Kaylee, 13-year-old Lex, and 14-year-old Sebastian who, despite their struggles, find ways to inspire happiness and bring joy to their communities.
