What is a Mangonada?

In case you missed it, Baskin-Robbins recently announced the launch of the brand’s tribute to the traditional Mexican beverage, the Mangonada, delivering real bold flavor. Keep reading to learn exactly what is a Mangonada, Baskin-Robbins’ brand-new menu addition that’s available through the end of May!

What is a Mangonada

Mangonadas are a frozen beverage that combine sweet, tart, and savory authentic Mexican flavors into a unique drinking experience. Baskin-Robbins’ Mangonada swirls the bright, tropical flavor of mango puree with a salty and tart kick of chamoy. A sprinkle of Tajín® ClásicoSeasoning – a signature Mexican combination of mild chili peppers, lime, and sea salt – tops off the drink with a mild kick of spice, leaving tastes buds with an unforgettably unique experience.

One of the key ingredients in the Mangonada is chamoy, which is a traditional Mexican condiment that is typically served as a dip for fresh fruit, but is the perfect addition to the Mangonada to balance the sweetness of the mango. The chamoy used in Baskin-Robbins’ Mangonada is added into the bottom of the cup to create a thick layer that blends into the mango puree as its poured on top. Chamoy is also then drizzled on the top of the beverage, making the ratio of salty to sweet just right from the first taste to the last sip.

The final element of the Baskin-Robbins Mangonada is Tajín Clásico Seasoning, the unique chili lime blend that gives the beverage a mild kick of spice. Baskin-Robbins tops the Mangonada with a sprinkle of Tajín® Clásico Seasoning to provide a zing of flavor that truly sets the Mangonada apart from other drinks.

Baskin-Robbins’ Mangonada strikes the perfect balance of refreshing, sweet, and savory, and is made to order in-shop. Whether you grab one at the drive-thru or at curbside where available, your Mangonada will be a unique and flavorful sipping experience that you’ll want to share with everyone you know.
