Today, the Steel Keg Association announced the Keg Champions program, awarded to bars and restaurants embracing the benefits of reusable stainless steel kegs. Buffalo Wild Wings earned the 2023 Keg Champion title in the National Restaurant category.

To commemorate the Keg Champion award, the Steel Keg Association gave the brand a stainless steel keg trophy. The team celebrated with the perfect drink for the occasion: draft beer.

“As the largest sports bar brand in the U.S., Buffalo Wild Wings has always had draft beer from reusable steel kegs at the heart of our business,” says Chief Operating Officer, Buffalo Wild Wings, John Bowie. “We’re honored to accept this inaugural award. Choosing draft beer from reusable kegs is a refreshingly simple way to do a little good.”

“When you choose a draft from steel kegs, you’re making a sustainable choice and joining the effort to remove single-use packages from recycling and landfill streams,” says Steel Keg Association’s Executive Director Dan Vorlage. “Given all the good kegs do, it’s time to recognize the Keg Champions out there.”

Buffalo Wild Wing restaurants offer on average 30 different beers on tap to satisfy every occasion and every guest across all its sports bars. “Guests rarely think about our steel kegs, because you can’t typically see them in our restaurants,” says Director of Beverage, Buffalo Wild Wings, Jason Murphy. “But we applaud our draft beer fans, the true keg champions.”
